Welcome to Catalyst, a blogging and discussion opportunity offered to the Great Lakes community and beyond to explore the philosophy and practice of green chemistry, new ideas for green chemistry applications, and any other topics of interest within the realm of green chemistry, especially – but not limited to! – how it can be applied to Great Lakes challenges.

  1. No flaming or ad hominen attacks. While we encourage debate, it should remain professional and respectful.
  2. Comments should relate to the posted blog. If you want to be the one standing on the soapbox, write a blog entry and submit it!
  3. Blogs posted on this site may be freely reproduced one week after the date of first posting on this web site as long as the Great Lakes Green Chemistry Network is credited as the original blog site and the URL www.glgc.org is included in the credit.
  4. The Great Lakes Green Chemistry Network reserves the right to edit blog submissions and has final authority over what is posted on this site.

The U.S. government, through its decade-long $12 billion investment in the National Nanotechnology Initiative, has helped throw nanomaterial innovation into overdrive. By comparison, green chemistry programs are still running in first gear.
